The new electronics recycling pilot program is here! We are happy to announce the official start of the expanded electronics recycling pilot program here in Edson, Hinton and Yellowhead County; kicking off during our Toxic Round Up. The Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA) says: “The pilot project will help reduce municipal landfill waste, support environmental protection and move to position Alberta as a significant contributor to the emerging circular economy where we recycle and recover as much product material as possible and return it to the manufacturing process.”
This pilot includes over 600 new types of electronic gadgets and appliances such as: small home appliances, audio and video equipment, cell phones and other wireless devices, power tools, gaming equipment, toys(with battery or power cords), musical instruments and solar panels. Previously accepted items like TVs, computers and printers will continue to be accepted.
Please bring any electronics to the Edson Recycling Depot, Hinton Rowan Street Recycle Center or the Parkcourt, Peers of Wildwood transfer sites. We appreciate your cooperation and excitement during the development of this pilot program and are glad to be taking your electronics in for recycling. Feel free to visit the ARMA website for more details on the program: https://armaepilot.com/ and contact the Edson Recycling Depot with any further inquiries. 780-723-4002 or @edsonrecycling on facebook.
