In 2017, the Edson Recycle Depot added 26 kW of grid-tied photovoltaic cells (solar panels) and a 10 kW off-grid system as part of an initiative to demonstrate the feasibility of solar power in Edson. In total the depot has the capacity to produce 45 kW of energy, or enough to power 5 houses!
